Changing the Desktop Background
Being individuals, we have many different taste’s and preferences, and your computer, much like the way you setup your house, bedroom, Desk etc, can also be customized to your liking. This customization is accomplished using a variety of methods. Below describes the `right-click' method that requires two clicks, and you're done.
First of all, and perhaps one of the most popular items of interest, is how to make a photo become the desktop wallpaper? In other words, how do I make a photo display on my screen that stays there until I decide to change it?
This is a question posed by many grandparents who may be not that familiar with computing, they often want a photo of the grandkids to show up as their desktop background or `wallpaper’. In most cases your image files may be located in the My Pictures folder. They may reside elswhere depending on the software you use or your setup, either way, you will need to navigate to their location. For whatever reason, if you want an image as your background, the following details the easy steps.
To change the desktop background
If your photos or images are located in the My Pictures folder, simply click Start and then cursor up and click on the `My Pictures’ folder as shown below.
Once you have located the image you want as your background, follow the steps below.
1) Locate the image you would like as your background
2) Right-click the image
3) In the drop down menu select `Set as Desktop Background’
You can also use some of the Windows default backgrounds or wallpapers via selection from the Display Properties menu. To use this method follow the steps below.
1) Right-click and empty space on the desktop and select Properties
2) In the Display Properties window click the `Desktop’ tab
3) In the Background window select an image
4) Click Apply and OK
4) Click Apply and OK
