Reference and Links for Gaming Machines
Most honest computer techies will tell you they do not know everything about gaming machines. As the technology and hardware changes at such a rapid pace, it is difficult to keep up, some techies may specialize in nothing but gaming rigs and might be better placed to know the latest inventory on the best tech around for building these monsters
As for the rest of us (and strictly speaking for myself) it may simply be a case of let’s see what’s available at the time of the build!
More often than not we will bargain price against expectation for our customer’s buck and do our best to build them a rig that proves itself well for performance and offer a design that enables future proofing for the long haul.
You may well say this is the ultimate challenge or test for the knowledgeable techie, but it is also one that many of us enjoy, and this satisfaction I believe, should be relished by all the amateur game builders. Building gaming machines is slightly more complicated than a basic computer build but not out of the reach of your average person with some simple technical nouse.
The die-hard gamers and builders will more than likely have a far more innate knowledge of these systems than your average system or in some cases your average computer technician.
I do not know everything about them, there is a dedicated reign of people out there who may be qualified, certified or not that can sure as hell tell you perhaps more about these machines and their particulars than many techies can.
I have met some of these folk and they know their stuff, well I should say, most do as some pose to know everything but let themselves down as soon as their mouths open! Having said that though, I mean there are some really die-hard gamers that do nothing else but build the latest and best tech and seem to know the ins and outs of the most popular games.
There is also many websites totally devoted to pc gaming and the tech and hardware that goes with it, no doubt it is worth paying these sites a visit, but I must advise you that I am not that familiar with the authors of these sites much less their qualifications and what may or may not be factual content on them.
What I can say for the most part, is that from what I have seen they look pretty legit and seem to well and truly know their stuff. Based on that premise, I have listed a few I have personally used as good reference:
